In-home pet euthanasia and palliative care

My promise is to help you navigate one of life’s hardest decisions, making the experience gentle and calm for your pet, your family and you.

Meet Dr Ray

There’s a saying in this profession: you don’t become a vet — you’re born one.

Some of my earliest memories are of animals. Pets, wildlife, and the quiet connection people share with the creatures they love have always been a huge part of my life. Becoming a veterinarian was my dream, and it took a lot of hard work to get there.

Over the years, I’ve done everything from reviving newborn puppies to performing surgery on a blue-tongue lizard at 2am. I also co-founded and built a successful veterinary business, which grew into a 24-hour hospital and mobile veterinary service.

Now, after moving to the Northern Rivers with my wife and our two children, I’m creating something more personal: Ray of Light, a home-based palliative care and end-of-life service for pets across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW.

I chose this path because the two things I’ve always loved most about being a vet are helping animals and connecting deeply with people. End-of-life care is difficult, but it is also incredibly meaningful. To be invited into a family’s home at such an important moment, and to help make that goodbye calm, gentle, and full of love, is something that gives me great purpose. It truly fills my cup.
